If you have a WordPress website which you have spent days trying to build it out, how will you feel when the website suddenly does not work and you will not be able to restore the website again?
Well that’s why you need to backup your website! But first, let me tell you
When you need to backup your website
- When installing a plug-in
Even though the plug-ins you install might be safe, plug-ins that you install might not work and instead, destroy your website!
- When installing a new theme
Just in case, make sure you install a new theme as when you do that, your website might look not as good as you want it to be, and or if the theme is harmful to your website
- Once in a while
You never know when your website may go down whether it is from someone who found out how to hack you, or whether the web hosting (website which makes your website around) has run into some issues!
Now that you know when to backup, here is how you do it!
How to backup your website
To backup your website, let us use this plugin to help us do exactly what we want!
Just hover over the plugins tab, and click “Add New”

Then, scroll down until you see a “Search plugins” area, and type in Updraftplus as follows:

Once you are with me, click install now (the button beside UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin) and click activate!
Then, hover over settings, and click on UpdraftPlus Backups:

Once you are here, you will need to click on backup now

Click backup now again

And you are done!

If you did something that you do not want in your website, just click on restore, and everything will be fixed!
If you also want, click on these buttons:
- Database
- Plugins
- Themes
- Uploads
- Others
And you will be able to download those files to your computer!
