Meanings of colours and symbols on the flag:

Red – universal brotherhood and equality of man.

White – pervading and everlasting purity and virtue Crescent moon – a young nation on the ascendant Five stars – Ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.

Interesting facts about our State Flag:

1. The Flag should be cleaned when dirty and replaced if it has faded.

2. During National Day Celebrations Period from 1 July to 30 September each year, Flag decals and stickers, posters or other visual images may be displayed freely.

3. Torn or worn-out Flags should be packed into a sealed black trash bag before being disposed of.
