After waking up early for our trip to the DMZ, we got out of our hotel and waited for the bus to come. While walking towards the place where we will meet our tour guide, we experienced something that Singapore does not have – snow!
It was snowing quite heavily, and we were amazed by how beautiful it looked.
After meeting our tour guide, she helped us take some photos for us.
When the bus reached, our journey to the DMZ continued.
While on our one-hour bus ride, as the snow was getting thicker, we could see the floor getting slippery, which made the ride a little dangerous. Nevertheless, we reached the DMZ.
As we didn’t had breakfast yet, we went to a restaurant and got some food.
I had udon with fish cake, which tasted normal.
Like many Korean restaurants, we were able to have free-flow water for free, which was great!
Before entering the DMZ, our tour guide took us around the area to explain the history and background of the DMZ. While doing so, we managed to take many pictures.
And at last, it was time to enter the DMZ! However, due to the heavy snow, we had to wait for a long time for them to confirm whether we can enter the DMZ. After waiting for a very long time, the tour guide told us some unfortunate news – we were not able to enter the DMZ due to the bad weather.
Although we were disappointed, the DMZ area had a lot of snow on the ground for us to enjoy. We were told that we will go to the DMZ the next day, and returned to Myeongdong.
After waiting for such a long time, it was lunchtime. We went to a famous Ginseng Chicken Soup place, Tosokchon, where we enjoyed the best Ginseng Chicken Soup I had yet!
After the scrumptious meal, we went to a convenience store and bought my brother some dessert, despite the cold weather.
We then went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace, and managed to see what it looks like!
We then got to see what it is like when there is a change of guards!

Afterwards, we took the train back to our hotel.
Dinner Time
We went to Myeongdong Gyoza (명동교자) and had dumplings and noodles for dinner! As we were able to add pepper to the noodles, the taste of it was greatly enhanced, although the noodles taste quite normal.
After dinner, we went back to the hotel and could not wait to go to the DMZ the next day.
