2024 Taipei Immersion Trip | Day 2

阳明山

After we ate a simple hotel buffet breakfast, we gathered at the hotel entrance and boarded the bus to YangMing Shan, a famous national park in Taipei.

小油坑

Reaching 阳明山小油坑, we observed the volcanic landscape and waterfall. Not much could be seen though, as the sky was very misty.

There was a repulsive smell that many of us complained about. Turns out, it was the sulfur deposits from the volcano that caused the smell.

Next, we went to 阳明公园，花钟. The park’s landscape was very beautiful with many seasonal flowers, and I took the chance to take many photos of the park.

We then took a group photo at the Flower Clock.

Lunch

After visiting 阳明山, it was already lunctime. This was what we ate!

Of the 5 flavours of the soup dumplings (Mala, Matcha, Vegetables, Curry and the Original), I find myself to prefer the original flavour more, but it was a delight being able to try soup dumplings in many different flavours!

The fried rice was not bad as well, and had a distinctive garlic taste.

We then made our way to Trash Kitchen, where we learnt more about plastic waste and how they can be recycled. We expected the recycling process to take very long, but in a matter of 3 minutes, we could turn plastic waste into a wireless charger.

In a short period of 3 minutes, I managed to make a wireless charger. Here is the before and after:

From this experience, I learnt how easy it was for us to recycle, and as long as we apply what we have learnt and recycle our single-use plastics, we are able to contribute to less waste.

Dinner

Afterwards, we went to a restaurant and had dinner.

As we ended our day and returned back to the hotel, we shared our experience on our 2nd day at Taipei, and I was tasked to share my reflections.
